file format for printing image on a T-Shirt
Something that we learned today, in researching the printing process for T-shirts is that: "CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) are the colors used in the printing process, whereas RGB (Red, Green and Blue) are the colors used by screen displays such as your monitor. Please note that JPEG files are almost always in RGB. The document should be created in CMYK mode so that the colors that you see on the screen most closely match the final printed product. If the document is created in RGB, the colors in the printed product may vary slightly. Many of the bright values produced by the monitor cannot be reproduced in print."
In the image below (click it to see its full size), the graphic on the left is in PSD format (Adobe Photoshop, good for CMYK printing), and the one on the right is in JPEG format (good for RGB display on a monitor).
